THE RYKAARTS TEAM
Rykaart’s at Longridge Wine Estate is a family-owned restaurant created by Alex and Ella Rykaart. Set at the foot of the Helderberg mountains, with sweeping views across the False Bay Peninsula towards Table Mountain, the restaurant offers a three-course, family-style dining experience inspired by the beautiful seasonal produce grown on this biodynamic farm.
Wholesome food, warm hospitality and genuine service have always been at the heart of Rykaart’s. After both working in some of the Cape Winelands’ leading restaurants and hospitality establishments, Alex and Ella opened their first restaurant in their hometown of Stellenbosch in 2021.
When the opportunity arose to grow the restaurant and create something new at Longridge Wine Estate, Alex and Ella and the restaurant team made the move to the farm.
Today, the heart of the restaurant extends well beyond Alex and Ella. Restaurant Manager Nomsa is very much the face of Rykaart’s, warmly welcoming guests and leading an exceptional front-of-house team who bring the restaurant’s relaxed and personal style of hospitality to life each day. Behind the scenes, Alex guides our dedicated kitchen team, creating generous, produce-driven dishes designed to be shared around the table.
Together, the team aims to make Rykaart’s feel welcoming, unpretentious and personal. A place to settle in, share good food and wine, and enjoy the beauty of Longridge.
OUR CONCEPT
Rykaart’s at Longridge Wine Estate offers a wholesome set three course family-style dining experience inspired by the beautiful produce from this biodynamic farm. Join us for a feast that reminds you of the daily home-cooked meal served around the family dining room table. It is informal and fun and offers a variety of delicious dishes throughout the meal.
OUR FOOD
At Rykaart’s we offer a set three course menu served ‘family-style’ for your table to share. Our menu changes monthly and is prepared as far as possible using sustainable ingredients from Longridge Wine Estate and the surrounding farms.
We can accommodate certain dietary requirements if notified in advance, but unfortunately cannot accommodate vegan of dairy/lactose intolerant guests.

THINGS TO KNOW
– Opening Hours –
Our operating days change throughout the year so please refer to our Dineplan availability or our Google page for current information.
Lunch reservations can be made between 12:00 and 14:00 as the kitchen closes at 15:00. Dinner reservations can be made between 18:00 and 19:30 as the kitchen closes at 20:30. Please note on days where dinner is not served the restaurant closes at 17:00. On evenings when dinner is served the restaurant closes at 22:00.
– Dietary Requirements –
We can accommodate certain dietary requirements if notified in advance, but unfortunately cannot accommodate vegan of dairy/lactose intolerant guests. Please note that salt, pepper, onions and garlic are often used in our kitchen and cannot be excluded.
– Booking for Children –
We will have a simple kids friendly meal and dessert available for children under 12 years old. Please let us know how many children are in you party when booking.
– Corkage Policy –
Rykaart’s is based on Longridge Wine Estate who produce a wide selection of beautiful wines. As we offer all of these wines on our wine list we have ‘no corkage’ policy at our restaurant.
– Our Pet Policy –
Pets are unfortunately not allowed on Longridge Wine Estate.
